environmental management: building certifications
Energy Performance Certification (EPC)
Under European Union regulations the UK Government now requires commercial buildings that are subject to a Sale, Lease or Rental, to have an Energy Performance Certificate EPC. This must be presented by the seller or landlord to the prospective buyer or tenant.
As of the end of 2008 even small buildings of 500m2 are now required to have an EPC. Failure to do so could result in transactions on the property being delayed or even failure to sell it. ESP energy consultants can provide a full service offering to issue EPC’s.
Display Energy Certification (DEC)
From 1st October 2008, the UK Government will require all public authority buildings that have public access, to display an Energy Certificate. The certificate will include energy consumption details and will need to be renewed annually.
ESP energy consultants can provide local authorities with a full service offering to issue and keep updated DECs.
