environmental management: climate change levy
As a result of the Kyoto treaty, the Climate Change Levy (CCL) was introduced to reduce energy consumption levels in industry within the UK.
Large energy users are most affected by the tax and as an incentive the Government offers an 80% abatement in the levy to energy users who show a commitment to reducing energy usage. Amongst the commitments included in the Agreements are the requirements for: the development of an energy policy, an energy management review, energy monitoring and control and combined heat and power feasibility studies (sector dependant).
In order to achieve the rebate, companies must enter into a CCL Agreement with the Government, which includes the above obligations.
Our environmental specialists can provide our clients with solutions that enable them to qualify for the rebate.
